Float65 Mechanical Keyboard

TLDR: Making a keyboard from scratch and selling it to hobbyists through the internet (launching in 2025)

The Float65 Mechanical Keyboard was a personal project from 2024. I completed the design, prototyping, manufacturing, product photography, multi-channel marketing and paid media while collaborating with retailers and influencers to bring this project to life, selling over 300 preorders before unfortunately cancelling the project for business-related reasons. While the project was very well received in among mechanical keyboard hobbyists, it ultimately didn't come to fruition in 2024. I am planning a relaunch in mid 2025 with new retailers, improved pricing, and a new primary manufacturer.

FRL84

TLDR: My first self-designed keyboard project sold to hobbyists in 2023

In 2023 I partnered with a small keyboard builder and retailer, P3Dstore, to develop and sell the FRL84 Mechanical Keyboard Kit. The stacked-acrylic design was relatively simple to design and easy for newcomers to the hobby to assemble. The project was successful and fun dive into keyboard merchandising.Below are some photos I took and assets I made for the project.

Edge Notebooks

TLDR: Successful Kickstarter campaign for handmade notebooks

Edge Notebooks is a project originally conceived for my graduating thesis project. After an initial unsuccessful Kickstarter campaign, I relaunched the campaign in February of 2020 with revised pricing and a new plan of attack. The project was very successful, selling more than 250 notebooks to over 150 people around the world. After the Kickstarter campaign, I launched a Shopify site (edgenotebook.ca, no longer live) to sell through my leftover stock.

Misc Keyboard Photography and Hardware Design

TLDR: I like computers and keyboards and stuff...

I designed and 3D printed some brackets with threaded inserts so I could mount my PC to an Ikea pegboard

I used a previous keyboard I designed, the FRL84, and made a case replacement out of bent stainless steel.

I made this acrylic case replacement for a pre-existing YMDK96 keyboard

I took a bunch of photos of this Skyline78 by Fanche because it's very pretty. I mean, look at it!

This Thermal by Wilba is also very cool, so I took some photos.

Monigram Coffee Roasters

TLDR: Packaging and branding projects for a local coffee roaster

I had the fantastic opportunity of working with the team at Monigram Coffee Roasters to develop new bag designs and a labeling system for their locally-roasted coffee. This eventually led to further developing the brand with subscription box packaging, business cards, door hangers, home brewing guides, wholesale sell sheets, travel mugs, and more.

Reep Green Solutions

TLDR: Brand material and signage for a local environmental organization

In late 2019 I had the opportunity to design the annual report for Reep Green Solutions, an environmental organization based in Kitchener, ON. This report acted not only as an internal report for staff and sponsors, but also as a promotional handout to educate the public and inform potential donors of what the organization has accomplished in their 20 year history.Later on, I got to work on one of their outreach projects: Depave Paradise. The project works to convert old and unused parking lots into usable greenspace. For these locations they needed some educational signage that they could place at the sites to teach locals about the project and advocate for greener spaces city-wide.

Here are the signs featured at an installation at THEMUSEUM in downtown Kitchener:
